Coming soon to the Netherlands!!!
By the end of 2023
What is happening in the background...
analysis & planning
RidgeBlade is analyzing the product in the field and adjusting the components and software to deliver a high quality product by the end of 2023. This process will include the technical & functional requirements validation along with extensive testing. Lots of data is still being gathered and analyzed whereas trainings for the distributors and installers is startinge in November 2023.
Is your roof suitable for ridgeblade?
In the comming periode we will be accepting requests for information and are already able to asses if your roof is suitable for a RidgeBlade. Calculations on yield based on historical wind measurements and taking the roof angle and slope into account can already be provided.
As RidgeBlade is working on setting up the distribution channels, production is ramping up and the installers gettings trained will push the first install to mid 2024.
LAUNCH & GROW
After the installation of RidgeBlade we will support you and monitor the environment. Starting with a small setup and looking to expand after being convinced it works excellent, then let us know. Use the contact form or your customer portal to engage with us making this an overwhelming experience.
How does is it work?
Conventional wind turbines use only a fraction of the wind potential. Placement of RidgeBlades on the roof tops use increased wind speeds based on the roof angle. Wind blowing against the roof need to go somewhere, which is up. Once the wind is pushed upwards it accumulates speed until it reaches the roof top where it is moving through the RidgeBlade wind turbine. The larger the roof square meters and ideal roof angle can speed up wind by a factor of 2.2x times.
How does it look like?
Due to the low footprint of RidgeBlade and the location of installation results in a very low visual imprint on the environment. Adjacent to an existing chimney RidgeBlade can even improve the view from below, bridging chimney and ridgeblade in a smooth horizon.Read more
Irrespective of the wind direction, RidgeBlade will function even if the wind changes 180 degrees. Due to the design of RidgeBlade it accepts wind from both sides. Though the wind direction has an impact on the performance of RidgeBlade where the most optimal wind power usage is between -45 and 45 degrees.Read more
Power throughout the day!
Solar is only generating power when the sun is up, RidgeBlade generates power 24x7 as long as there is some wind. During sumertime solar panels shall generate more power in a short timespan, whereas RidgeBlad continously generate wind energy. During the winter period RidgeBlade will continue to provide power where solar is failing.
During the winter period the energy consumption is higher and hence that is where RidgeBlades shine. Lighting and heating (heatpump's etc) is used more during the winter time...Read more
Models RB1 or RB2?
There are 2 models available for RidgeBlade: RB1 - Residential model; RB2 - Standard model. A residential system comprising of 10 rotors (12 meter length) will generated an estimated 9MWh per year at an average 6m/s windspeed using a 40degree rooftop. Residential systems are used in urban area's and can produce electriciy in a wide variety of wind conditions while being virtualy silent.
The standard system comprising of 10 rotors (12 meter length) will generated an estimated 11MWh per year at an average 6m/s windspeed using a 40degree rooftop. Standard systems are more powerfull and can be installed on A-Frames, warhouses, farms etc.Read more
Power calculation tailored to your situation
Intersted in RidgeBlade and would like to receive a calculation specific to your situation, you can raise a request with Cande for computing the yield figures. Once we received the location details the system fully automated find the orientation of your roof, download the historical wind data (from Meteo sources) and calculate the potential power calculations.
Once we received the pricing details by December 2023 the Project Asssessment Tool (PAT) will also provide Return On Investment (ROI) details. Based on the current electricity prices the ROI is extremely short which makes RidgeBlade a smart investment.Read more
